Small Presentation Box

This is just a small presentation box, that I made to house a Marking Knife. A Buddie wanted to do a little bartering, a small sign for a Marking Knife.

The Knife alone did not get it for me. So, I made a box, using finger joints. I cut these by hand this time, pieces were too small for the table saw jig. I did use the router table to cut groves for the little panels.

The sides are 1/4" Oak, and the panels are 1/8" Baltic plywood. Finished with Danish Oil to bring the grain of the Oak out, and Howard's Feed and Wax, then buffed, to give it a soft low glow.

Originally, I was going to use 1 long small hinge. Decided against that, instead I used some 1/4" magnets to secure the lid and on top of 2 post inside the box. That worked like a charm, it actually pulls the halves together. I also included my maker's mark.

In return i received a wonderful Lazer engraved placard.

Yes, I was on a box kick, for some tools.

Thanks for looking and comments are always welcome and appreciated.
