This was made to house a Bevel Gauge, made from Walnut, which I made last month. I lined the bottom and sides to keep it in place Sent to one of my buddies who just happens to be a great Guy.

Thanks for looking and comments are always welcome and appreciated.

Very functional box.   Like the lock on the end.

Thanks, Ron. I had to come up with something, the lid slides easily.

Hey, I’ve seen that box in person!

May you have the day you deserve!

Sorry Lofty, but to me a box is a box... however, your locking mechanism is cool.

I say this 'cause I used to make a lot of boxes but always crapped out in the lid securement without fancy hardware.

I now make most of my boxes out of laser cut MDF, however, this "simple" mechanism has got my creative juices flowing... off to SketchUp

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Thanks, LBD. Yeah, boxes are boxes for the most part. I had to come up with something to secure the lid. Didn't have any hardware in the shop at the time. Most of the time I use simple hinges and a clasp. Would like to figure out other means to secure.

Thanks, Ivan. And easy to build at that. Great pencil cases at too.

Nice and easy to make an elegant storage box, looks great. I need to make some of these for loose tools all over the shop.
Thanks, OldTool. I have been getting back into making more lately. Need to make some old school type like the Japanese style.

Nice little box,  I don't know what happened,  it never showed up?

Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.

Yep, lost the tracking number too. A few more have been shipped since then too.
