My prototype went so well I decided to make more of these presentation boxes. Oak sides with 1/4" Maple plywood, measuring 13-1/2" x 9" x 2-1/2". These do not have the clasp on the front yet, (out of stock). I'll get those on later, still waiting for a delivery of foam padding.

Simple box joint joinery with a grove to hold the panels. Changed the finishing schedule a bit from the last one. 1 coat of Danish Oil and 1 coat of Howard's Feed an Wax, buffed.

Since the first posting I received the clasp and the padding. They make a nice set for the Layou Tolls I posted eariler.

Thanks for looking and comments are always welcome and appreciated.

Which foam do you like for these Eric?

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Very nice.  What type of padding do you use?
Ryan & Barb, the foam is closed cell foam ordered off Amazon I picked up some at 1/4" and 3/8" thickness. Wanted 1/2" but could not find it at the time. I do need a better way to cut it, for smoother cuts. It does serve the purpose though.

Thanks Eric!

Nice looking boxes. Good job !!!   Mike
Thanks, Mike. I was into a box phase this past summer, and still making boxes. I like to try different things and usually make them in multiples.

I remember you making these, how boxes many did you finally produce during your shop reorganize session?

Good thing to pack those types of tools to keep their edges safe, wish I had done that years ago.
Thanks, Splinter. I think when it was all said and done there was about 10 boxes. Some a little smaller.

Thanks, Ivan. Easy to make with a good jig.

Nice work, especially the precision in dimensioning to keep all identical, they will stack up nice in the shop shelf.
Thanks, OldTool. When I make boxes and such, I will set a stop block on the fence for the multiple cuts, and I like to make a few when I go through the set up. These were made to house small tools to ship out to a few folks.
