Wasn’t too sure I had the skills to make this, Plus the lathe that I had could barely handle this. I have since upgraded my lathe and now that I know I can do this, my next Snare drum is going to be awesome :)
This is segmented? Wow.
Losing fingers since 1969
Yes it’s segmented and was a pain :)
This one is already awesome. Hope to see more. Keep on going.
Will, excellent job. Please post your next one. Very intrested in seeing it. Take pictures of the drum inside and out before the assembled photo. Not that im going to make one because this is out of my capabilities. But to see what it all looks like for I have never seen how a drum is built. Thanks. I’ll be adding you to follow please follow me.

Great job! How does it sound? The sound is what really matters as the snare is the tone for the rest of the kit. So now you have to make the rest to match, hehehe.

Sounds great. I need to add a muffler before I sell it. Added some pictures of the process as well. Thanks all great to hear comments from some pro’s since I am just an amateur woodworker. Site won’t let me add a video of it being played though :(
Great job, you are very talented !!

That’s sweet! Have you thought about making wooden hoops too? And extra step (and not as durable) but they sound fabulous. What brand of hardware did you use?
