I made this box to hold my Corradi rasps and Taiwanese files after having to suffer through winding them out of their plastic shipping packages, which were just getting more shredded over time. Made of basswood scraps left over from some kumiko projects, alder and poplar scraps and wenge.

Handy box but I am curious about the files. Where to buy and how is the quality.

Great storage solution.

Thanks, guys!

Dutchy, the Rasps are hand-stitched Corradis from Italy. They work great. The smooth jobs are made in Taiwan and work OK. I purchased both sets at Woodcraft.

Now that dual layer makes it really practical D_L..

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Thanks! I try to keep weight and volume to a minimum, for when I'm old and decrepit.

Fine looking set, I can see why they'd be difficult to store any other way.

The layers are great, everything in its place. Love the "look", even shop boxes can show craftsmanship.
I really love your title; clever name for your box.  It looks great!

Excellent, Dark_Lightning! I love storage projects that optimize for size, and this one definitely does that.
Thanks! I guess I should post the two chests that I consolidated my portable tools into. I'm actually looking into making another chest. It's a sickness, I tell ya!

Pretty storage solution, Steven! I’ve thought about something similar for my files, but they’re all different lengths and shapes, and I haven’t been able to tetris them together yet.

May you have the day you deserve!

Thanks! Hah! I am the Tetris Master, lol. I'll post my palm tool chest storage solution soon, so that some possibilities will present themselves. On another note, the wood you sent me in our trade is still sitting in a drawer in my garage. I haven't produced a project since about March, for a number of reasons, the big one being that my youngest brother is living in our dining area because of health issues and nowhere else to go except the street, which isn't an option for family.

No worries. And besides, when you’re successful in tetris, things disappear, which might not be great for the budget. Good luck getting some shop time. We’ve got company coming for the holidays, so I’ve been getting my shop time fixing things in the house.

May you have the day you deserve!

Seems like my plan just to keep all my loose tools in "Rubbermaid" is falling from grace, all you guy's making storage for everything. I have to admit it does look a lot better than my method.
Rubbermaid has a place. It's certainly less expensive!
