Here is a spoon I carved from a blank that I rove from a cherry log and squared up with a hand plane. After carving the spoon with gouge and spoke shave, I then carved the little man into the handle with BeaverCraft knives.

very cool,my wife would love that.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Well done Don! Looks amazing. I really like the face.

Andy -- Old Chinese proverb say: If you think something can't be done, don't interrupt man who is doing it.

Nicely done!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Thanks, guys. BTW carving tiny faces in cherry is harder then doing so in lime or basswood. I am real happy how it turned out but  sorry I gave it away. I really liked it. Guess I will have to make more.  Some practice faces  will  show up next.
