sofa table

Project Information
this is a table I made for my neighbor to put behind his sofa, its 8ft long made of walnut for the top with maple plugs, the base is cherry wood all mortise and tenon construction finished with a poly oil. the sad thing is no one will ever see the legs but I wanted it to look good so if someday it might see the light of day. the important thing he loved it. didn't get to take much in the way of good pic's, he took it home right after i took these.

Yeah, that's a bummer.
A lot of work goes into some of the simplest things sometimes, then nobody gets to see it....☹️
It's a nice table top to look at though.

Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.

Pottz,

I can see from your past postings; this is a classic "Pottz or Larry" piece.

It has a nice warmth to it, very appealing accents.  I can tell you put a lot of thought and effort into it.

Pottz,

Very well done. The maple plugs are a nice touch.

You need better neighbors.  Ha.

Nicely done Pottz, good clean lines.

Nice figure on the top. How did you attach the ends? This the same neighbor that wanted a rocker for $200?
Lovely table, done well.    Nice work.

Hey what did you do to the legs? Are they laminated? I see different colors and patterns.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

That's a beautiful table Pottz. I bet you were all mortise and tenoned out after that build. Is it 40 M&T joints? Amazing!

Andy -- Old Chinese proverb say: If you think something can't be done, don't interrupt man who is doing it.

yes the legs were laminated. i spent way to much time for what it was gonna get used for. i did it as a favor and barely broke even on it. live and learn.

Cool Table. I almost think I like the legs better than the top. Nice work on it.
thanks dave.

Nice one pottz, I picked up on the lamination and realized why you were disappointed that the neighbor put it where it wouldn't be appreciated.
