A Simple Wall Cabinet

Here's a project I very recently finished. Taken from Mike Pekovich's book "The Why And How of Woodworking". Unaware that plans were commercially available for this piece, I created my own drawings and cut list.
I think it turned out pretty good. I made a mistake with the planning of the back corners of the dovetails which left the very corners of the box a bit delicate during machining the rabbet but I made it through without damage.
I kept the structure of the box straight grained white oak and used quarter sawn for the door panel and drawer front.
The back panels are ship-lapped red oak machined from an oak shipping 4x4 I've had for years.
My choice of finish was simply Danish oil.

Welcome,
Nice work, I like how you left everything proud.
Thanks for posting.

Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.

Beautiful job.  You nailed all the details.
I really like Pekovich's style, you built this well and it looks great with the wood selections!

Do you have s space selected to hang it?
Good looking cabinet. Great grain selection and a overall feel of quality craftsmanship. Good work

Thanks guys! I appreciate the kind comments.
I wrote that the drawer front was quarter sawn but obviously it isn't.
Yes, the cabinet is hanging in our living room, we use it as a whiskey cabinet. I edited the project and included a photo, not sure it'll show.
