I Built this birdhouse when I was temporarily layed off from work during COVID. I started it not realizing I would put as much into it as I initially thought. Best part is, a year later and birds are finally using it. The roof is cedar, I used real brick and mortar for the exterior.
Very creative birdhouse. The design is so magical looking and using all the real materials makes it even cooler. It should be fun to watch the fledgelings grow up.
Thanks guys for the compliments on the birdhouse. Ron, I shaped the chimney out of wood and used a diamond wheel on a grinder to cut small bricks and used construction adhesive to glue them to the wood. Afterwards I mortised into the cedar shakes and doweled it to the roof.
Good thing there is a chimney the fumes from your garden weed might make the birds a bit loco too! Should make a great nest Snicker snicker! Otherwise seriously though a very good job
