Long sword

I found this pattern online and made this wooden long sword. The blade and pommel have a shank that slide into the walnut handle. The blade is 3/8” thick maple. The handle is 1 1/2” to 2” x 12” walnut. Remaining wood is oak. Overall length 4’. I finished with shellac and polyurethane then polished with beeswax. Total cost $16CAN for materials.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

I dub you Sir Rodrick!

Very nice!
That thing looks real. Did you pull that out of a stone!

That looks real sharp!

Sorry about that 🙂
Very cool.  Makes me want to make one myself.

I do think that you need to make a wooden stone to display it.  😉

Yeah a wooden stone or a stump would work. The lady of the lake could use it to float on in a pinch.

If you painted the blade silver you could chase away the burglars. I know I wouldn’t hang around to see if it was real.

Thanks for the compliments🍻
