Arts and crafts mirror

This arts and crafts mirror was made from rough cut oak and all the moulding was made from the same rough cut oak. It's a good project that incorporates a variety of skills included mortise and tenon joints. I used ebony plugs at the joint that are as well a structural touch. But most importantly the finish is a 7 step process that includes 6 different colours. I searched for this colour for quite some time and it is the closest to a arts and crafts finish process minus the fuming process used in the early years. If I was to change anything I would have used quarter saw lumber instead.

Design, staining, and execution to perfection, love that A&C stuff!
Thank you…..never seems to go out of style
Well done craftmanship on a good  design.

Nice craftsman style mirror with some G&G plugs.  I think the dark stain makes the flat sawn oak look pretty darn nice.
Hey really well done! I built this same project a few years back out of sapelle and it's one of my favorites. As I recall it was a lot of fun to build...looks great!

Thanks gentlemen….wow Tom looks nice with the  sapelle. Thanks for sharing this with me. I love the arts and crafts era.
Thanks Earl for the compliment on the flat sawn oak. I was thinking I should have used 1/4 sawn oak but I couldn’t find any at the time.
