Fanning Jewelry Box

This is jewelry box that I copied from a sketch I made at a showplace  out of state. I made all the leaves on my duplicator once I developed the shape for the inside and outside. It has a top, bottom and back screwed together and 7 leaves that fan out from a 3/8 steel tube captured between the top and bottom. I did not have a picture of it being cut on the duplicator but I have one of a sign being made on it so you get the idea.
I used 1/4" thick templates for the leaves and just clamped a 1" thick pieces of oak to the table and cut them out. I finished  cut the inside of each leaf and just cut the outside down about 3/8" and then used a flush cut router bit to follow and finish cut the outside contour.

I do not sell any of these because it is not my design. Any I make are gifts.

This has been brought over from the other site as this is my new project database.

Like the design, finish and general appearance.  Nicely done.   Like the duplicator, self made or purchased?

Nice job Jim, I might try something like this on a larger scale to hold slightly bigger items. It could be fixed to the wall behind my work table in the garage. It takes up less space than drawers would.

Very nice jewelry box.
Cool design

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Neat and practical...

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Nice design, even better execution of the design. Looks great, too bad you can't sell these, it would be a hot item.
That is a great piece Jim, a wonderful design. Well done.
