Charcuterie Board

i made one of these guitar boards several years ago for my son to use as a cutting board. i moved that over here from lj's. the young guy in my office asked if id make him a charcuterie board. he says thats the hot thing now with people his age. 34. so of course i said. i showed him the other one and he loved it. he plays the guitar. simple project one day, today. made from walnut, cherry and maple. rubber feet. mineral oil finish. the logo disc was gonna go on the bottom but his initials are the same mine i put it on top. so it was a combo brand and mongram.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Very nice, should make the recipient happy.
Have you considered using steel wire for the guitar strings, which could cut cheese?, making the arm hinged.
Heck, until I heard people saying "charcuterie" I wasn't even sure how it was pronounced.

Good to see you can show the Gen-Z crowd how to display munchies that us oldsters just plop on a dinner plate.

Nice design! Retire already and get to knocking those out, you'll make a mint!
Looks good Pottz.

Good looking board.    Can not let the Grandson see it, he plays the guitar.    Yours is pretty well done.

Bunch of small parts there to glue up and keep straight and flat. Nice job

Your getting pretty good at making those you old Charcuterie. And it even has 6 strings!
I bet it strikes a cord with your Gen-Z guitar playing friend.

What method did you use to glue up the head and neck? What luck you have the same initials. Any relationship there?

My two sons play guitar and I’ll show them yours when I’m not busy. I bet they’ll want one.

James McIntyre

yeah he loved it. first glued up the piece thats the strings then glued and clamped up the remainder. no relationship, he's mexican !

That which we call a cuttingboard/ By any other name would still hold (French) antipasto.

How about some more info on that subtle disc... how made

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD
