Amerigo Vespucci finished

I called this finished today after working on it for six months during recovery from ankle replacement.  I can also start walking again. Yooo hooo.  I still need to make a display case.  This was a great project when mobility is limited.  I posted progress earlier but now complete.  Half of this should be posted in the needlework section.  Rigging was challenging due to cataract surgery that left some blurry vision but getting that fixed tomorrow.  Considering the physical challenges I'm really happy with the project.  So if you find walking and seeing difficult build a tall ship!

That’s a gorgeous model, Tim! Great workmanship and attention to detail.
Amazing detail!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Beautiful, Stunning, the ultimate model building in my opinion.  Wonderful job!
Love the old ships the time of iron men and wooden ships.    You did your model proud.    Wonderful.

HOLEY 💩 TIM ! you always amaze me  !

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Great job Tim0001... 6 months?... Lucky you had a few extra mechanical hands to assist,

With my two hands, mine too 17 years of my life.

Job well done as statistics say that only 5% of these models started ever get finished.

Though dont rest on your laurels yet... The next job is a glass display case for it... as SWMBO's (in general, the General) obsession with dust would prove that those masts and spars are not duster friendly... even feather ones.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

My goodness me, what a beautiful schooner. So much top detailing, excellent craftsmanship sir!

WOW! that is gorgeous Tim.

You sure are a determined person to be able to stick with something this difficult. I hope the ankle heals and works as it should. Getting older sure can have a lot of surprises.

Tim, you never cease to amaze us.....you set a high bar for the rest of us.

That is absolutely fantastic! It would take dozens of pictures for us to see all the details in this beautiful model!
Tim,
That's quite a feat for ankle replacement recovery.  I'd need a brain replacement to attempt anything so daunting.

Beautiful Tim and the details are over the top, Well done. Interesting that you laid planking on the stations. I have seen models like that and they use a solid blank for the hull.
