Hawkeye Pens

I make a couple hundred pens a year and have really never shown one here or at the old place....
So these are a couple blanks that a friend made for me.  If you were to cut me I would bleed black and gold, and never had an actual pen before.  They are on an upscale Sierra frame.  Thanks for looking.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Nice contrast of colors on a good looing pen.

That's a beautiful pen! That says a lot given that I'm an Iowa State grad 😁
I knew you made pens given your statements on some of your supply and equipment stashes, but never figured on a few 100/year!

Look great Mike! Hopefully they don't dry out after an hour like a Bic!  😀
Wow! That’s alotta pens!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Moke that is way cool.

We have some Iowanians here in the winter.

They don't get my humor tho.

Nice Mike. Just dont start selling them or they will take you to court
Pottzy- I have my "collection" of pens I think is cool for one reason or another....but there are 65 of them....so I'll pick and choose a few and post them.  I have to set up the studio soon for my little ebay business, so I can do it then....thanks for asking...and oh, there are even some wooden ones in there!

Ron-Thank you!  I copied a design of a therm-cup my wife has...or....I was told to!

Steve- A Cyclone huh!  I am also a Cyclone fan, except for two days a year ( Basketball and Football)

Splint- I used to sell them at a Gallery in CO.  I didn't want to but kind of got trapped into it...I made twice as many then....but they went out of business and I was ok with that.

Ryan-It is a lot of pens.  I have three lathes and I am constantly working on a batch of pens.  I do 20-25 at a time.  So when I'm doing flat work, if something is drying, or I am thinking through a problem, or I am pi$$ed off for doing something stupid, I just jump in and work on some pens.  I have done it so many times, it is therapeutic.  In fact, I'm working on a chess board for a friend and it is drying, so I was working on a batch up until I sat down at the computer.

Petey- Thanks--We know  lot of folks that go down there (somewhere in the area) in the winter, but not for an extended stay.  My friend the Sheriff is going to retire after this next election and is looking at a condo or apartment on Sanibel.  I told him now is the time!!!!  After everything is all fixed the prices will peak.  And as you know Sanibel real estate is pricey!

Mike

I'm a Hawkeye fan as well. Nothing better than the football half time wave!
Steve its a great new tradition.....they should pass the hat too....the U charges more than any other hospital in the State.  All the donations just go to the hospital itself.  Someone needs to help the young parents...

Mike

Hey Mokey... love to trade the written word with pen makers... even though you are plastic... I can handle it.... after all, the movie Barbie has revolutionised the kinky brigade... so for all the gods' sake keep posting them (the pens)...

However, I can see why you may have been hesitant to post this pen,

Now that's making your mark!

PS.  I gave you (h)air...

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😍😎

Nice pen Mike, I'm more of a Wolverine fan.

Main Street to the Mountains

Really great pen but I am a Iowa State fan. ...go Cyclones !
LBD-Thanks for the hair buddy!

Eric-Looks like Iowa is using the Portal to pilfer some Mich players....We can use any help available at the QB slot....the offensive coach is the head coaches son and is not so good.....

Birdseye- Go clones!  (except against the Hawks!)  The second game of the year is the Cy-Hawk game....early September.
