Pens

These are some simple segmented pens that I have made.  I kept photos of these for one reason or another.   They are just cell phone photos and some not good at that.
The first one I made for my brother.  It is Harley colors and he was a Harley guy.  The second is a pen and pencil set I made for my wife.  The third, another black and orange was made for an Athletic Director at a school we photographed for.  The last pen was made for a friend upon his retirement from our PD.  It is a thin blue line pen on a bolt action pen...its not really segmented, the blank came like that.
Typically, the white thin sections in the segments are "pick guard".  That is the material on a guitar where the pick would impact the body of the guitar, and this keeps it from scratching.   I order it from Stewart-MacDonald, a guitar makers supplier. (Luthier)  I also use, old credit cards, hotel door Keys and knife grip material, if I want thinner lines.  But I have used tons of stuff, from flashing to sheet material at hardware stores to any kind of pieces of plastic.

Love the darker colors, turquoise is excellent!
That first pen is as great as the picture.   All are really unique and good.   Nicely done.

Really nice work Moke.  I like the inverted blanks for pen/pencil set.  I'll have to remember that.
Thank you guys!
Pottz-Thought I'd show you what pens are supposed to look like instead of some ol wooden thing!!!!  LOL

Splint--Thanks man!

Ron-You like the dark photo?  I hesitated to even post it....but I like the pen.

Steve-Thank  you sir!

Kenny-I'd like to credit for that design, but the SWMBO came up with it.....I'll never forget, she said"matchey-matchey is out"    Well alrighty then.....hey she is the woman that buys the festools....

I like segmented pens and have made tons of them...the ones I give away I usually take a photo of, the others I have kept the pens...I will photograph them soon.

Mike

The turquoise really stands out
Thanks Corelz....she uses them all the time and she has a fair amount of pens!  Somehow those are her favorite.

Nice take Mokey... even for plastic.

Here in Aussieland they would be banned... the WOKE brigade would put up wanted posters,

for any plastic user.

Like Barb's idea for the pen & pencil set... if they were both out of the same blank, one could be on the 4yh page of a h5 page handwritten letter, to find they have been writing in pencil and some bum could erase the pencil and re-write it to your detriment.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

The pens look fantastic Mike, well done.

Main Street to the Mountains

Looking great!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Great looking pens Moke. Love mine.

Interesting stuff. You know another about pen making.

Duckie--you never cease to make me laugh!  Can you send me the poster in PSD or Jpeg?  THe turning club will get a bang out of it.

Eric-Thank you!

Mr Ryan- Thank you

Petey- Tanks man....I have learning by screwing stuff up...Just when I think I have screwed up everything I could...I find a new way!  Glad u like your pen.

Ananimiti is a word I can't spell... Here is a link to the files...

Note:- File with (FH), I have removed the flat (bald) spot on head, but I have brought the photo into realism... the head is a tad fatter (compare with NH - Normal Head).

The link includes the Corel file that can be imported into freebie Inkscape... also a SVG file in case the police want to laser it for their wanted board.
