I had a idea I would modify a couple of Louver/fixed shutter/Plantation Shutter/ ...no really sure what they are called but were definately Dust Collector doors. My efforts ended up in the Otto Bin. So two new doors were needed. (see my blog for those curious) * I have Kreg Beaded edge router bits set and a Sash window Router bit, I thought the beaded edge was a bit bland so opted fort the Sash window look, as I hadn't used it before so need to improve my skills. The doors are inside and on a bedroom cupboard so it was no real big deal. I used a piece of Oregon I ripped and profiled to the exact size of r the departing doors. It had a few defects in it of which I filled with Timbermate and Plastic Wood some regulatory sanding and they were good to go to full assembly One had ply panels and the other Mirrors a peek at the rear for those interested. I held everything in place with push pins and added 4 x spots of hot melt glue in the corners for a safety aspect I was happy with the results and overall improvements in the bedroom. Oregon is a timber very easily chipped but a nice timber to work with as opposed to the original Pacific maple doors.
Materials:- All were recycled products some broken glass mirrors a chunk of Oregon Post ans scraps of left over ply Finishing:- Sanding sealer and the 3 x coats of ultra gloss clear finish on the frames and ply Sharing:- I have detailed construction dimensions and other information if interested. Jigs:- Stashed away for later if required. And I couldn't possibly close without some acknowledgements for great music That's it from me I am off for a bath.
Is that short for CHRIStine?... a blow up doll? Talk about leaving Baby in the corner... Christine in the cupboard is barbaric... verging on Philistine!
... One had ply panels and the other Mirrors...
Neat, but where the hell did you get that brickwork ply?
I have about a dozen of these... Chines imported lumber (unless you are a RF and can find/afford local) is never the same dimension... just fractions of mm (even worse with bloody imperial) can turn a window into a door.
Who didn't use a backing board?

Top Shelf:- Chris = Christmas Tree almost useless comes out only once a year if I feel like it def not as useful as a Blow up Doll. Now if i could buy a sex doll that does housework I would buy one! Shelf below :- Two robot vac's def useless, The grey one a Hover no longer made and the battery is u/s, the white one an ebay special more trouble than it was worth constantly got stuck under furniture and had to be rescued all the time then under both is a Food vacuum baging syssten it sucks too!
As for a backer yep I used one, still got little splinters as well
One of the advantages of this Sash Cutter bit is its just the one bit and apart from initial setup for material thickness all you do as the profile is symmetrical is reverse the mating piece and lower the bit using the setup jig and your done.

I went and bought WOFM (Waste Of Fornicating Money) about 20 years ago... short of the exercise I got by continually rushing to the supermarket to buy replacement batteries, it does bugger all, but growl like SWMBO... though it has learnt to cower when SWMBO growls.
