Two Chippendale Style, Side Chairs

These two Chippendale side chairs I made together with the Hallway table last year. They are made out of American Black Walnut, they are my original design incorporating in the grapes and scrolls into the carvings to match up to the hallway table. All the joinery is the same as they were done in the olden days. Some examples, the side rails have a mortis and tenon that go through the back legs. The front cabriole legs are full length from the floor to the bottom of the seat. I did a ton of studying to replicate the joinery, size, ex, plus they were really fun to make.

Over the top awesome Dennis.....

Outstanding carving!

Another extraordinary  project to feature in Fine Woodworking magazine.  Thank you for showing  your work.

Those are fantastic!  That is a lot of carving on those chairs.

These chairs are magnificent, absolutely beautiful. I don't think even the original masters or Chippendale himself could create anything more perfect. Great craftsmanship.
Thank you, Everyone one for the wonderful complements. Very inspiring and much appreciated.

There's a lot of work in those chairs and it looks like you've done it all flawlessly. Awesome job.
Every detail is so crisp and smooth! Not only great construction, but attention to the final fine details is superb!

You must have fingers of steel or at least no pain sensations 😬
Thank you  Renners, & SplinterGroup, I just now realized your name lol, I'm defiantly a member of the splinter group. I've been lucky with the pain so far. I always pray that God will give me many more years to woodwork, I would be lost without my passion.

Yeah any group "on the fringe" is labeled that now-a-days. Since I'm constantly pulling splinters and am a bit "off", I should be a member 🤠
