Doll’s House project

I recently acquired a partially built “Dolls House”.
I spent a day this week adding the verandah posts & railings, the gingerbread plus two sets of interior starts along with a few minor repairs.
Then a couple of hours sanding so it’s ready for my daughter, Rachel who will do the decorating before we add the windows.
It’ll be a Christmas present for our only granddaughter, Hazel.

Thank you Pottz
She was playing with it with her Duplo figures while I was trying to sand it and became somewhat upset when it had to be put away.

What a beautiful build Peter! Your granddaughter will for sure enjoy it.

And a nice bonus: It is still a Fort.

Nice gift nice restoration Crowie

Kerry - Working with wood, the smell the feel, is such a joy, its a meditation of sorts.

Great additions to the house.   Well done.   Making things for the kids is one of my favorite things to do.   Time well spent.

The upgrades give it a lot of character. I'm sure it will be enjoyed for years!
Sure your G-Kid will love it.   Your porch rails and posts really set the house off.

Nice job. Sanding that thing is a real chore
Very nice, Peter! A bit of a change from the normal auto-oriented play-houses you build, no?

May you have the day you deserve!

Looks beautiful! Great detail…

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

The trim makes the piece come alive, masterful!

Be mindful of any squatters trying to move in between work sessions 🤔
Super nice Christmas gift for your granddaughter, she'll have this for a lifetime.
Really a great doll house.  I bet many grandchildren and other relatives get to have turn with it.  I Dad made on for my daughter in 1978.  I was passed on to other family little girls when my daughter got to old to play with it.
What a great addition to an already cool house. The details add so much to the illusion, I'll bet when finished it will pass as real/life size in a photo. It never dawned on me how much someone that builds models can use those talents to turn something that would otherwise be constructed with lumber that has parallel sides into something that has cylindrical elements to add so much more realism. Sorry, I'm having a hard time explaining what my brain is trying to say. 🥴

Thank you ladies and gents for the kind words of encouragement.
The plan is from 1986 so has been sitting around for quite some time awaiting someone with a beautiful granddaughter to finish it.
