Winding Sticks

It was just a quick project (They still need some minor adjustments).

I usually use one straight edge to find if a board is flat as I only handle small boards and I've never felt the needs of winding sticks. When I made my current workbench top, I used two cutoff pieces to find the flatness and I found it's convenient so I made these winding sticks.

I'm not a fan of purple heart as a main material but that's the only QS board I had. I actually liked the weight and solidness now.

Anyways, it was a tough material to handle with hand tools.

Still you put a super finish on the PH with smooth and rounded edges and no burned end grain, excellent!
Ron, Pottz, Thank you!
Splinter, I can't move my hand saw fast enough to burn the end grain, haha! Thank you.
