Lathe turned rolling pins

My wife decided her 4 grandchildren (all adults, 2 girls, 2 boys) who like to cook needed a rolling pin made by me. So I gave it a try. The picture is the result. They are made from Walnut (2), Big Leaf maple(1), Walnut & maple (1), Cherry and Beech (1), and Golden Chain (1) the dark one.
They are approx. 10" by 2.25 to 2.75" in diameter. The handles are glued in with mortise and tenons 7/8" in diameter by 1" deep.
I finished them with two coats of Walnut oil to enhance the grain and 5 coats of General's salad bowl finish.

My wife immediately laid claim to one of the Walnut pins with the other one going to her daughter in-law. All will be birthday gifts. I think I will do a couple more.

Those look great Les! Nicely done.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Wow - great gifts!
Beautiful bunch of pins. I agree with Pottz, the ones he picked are also my favorites.. How did you attach the handles to the pins on these, glued solid or some type of hardware ?  Excellent job.
What a beautiful and useful keepsake

Hi Les......Beautiful Rolling Pins,,,Very well Turned and finished.    Are the handles all part of the turning?

Regards......Cliff.
Thanks for the kind comments.

The handles were turned separately and glued in with 1" X 7/8" tenon. The walnut pins and the Big Leaf Maple had the same wood. The others were maple and beech.
Beautiful. the 2 on the left and the one on the far right are my favorites as well.

Makes me get the urge to get a lathe.
