This is an old piece that i just cleaned up and had a photographer take a few pics
I found this piece of wood buried on a beach on Gabriola Island. I had to cut through a lot of sponge to get to solid wood and then I just started carving and let the wood speak to me

Also really nice. Well done.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

This is amazing - gallery quality. And from a piece of driftwood that most would have burned.
beautiful !

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Such wonderful talent.  That is beautiful!
Great job WCA

I tried carving once... Got a nice piece of timber, carved it for hours and finished up with a stick.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Yeah, that happens sometimes! Try again, it gets easier

If that was meant for me WCA... does that mean better sticks?

yes, sticks take practice. i've  sometimes had the stick be
"good" enough to become a piece of firewood

Like they say... "What do you call a boomerang that won't come back?"... a stick... and being a failed Aussie, I've made many of those in the past.
