Reversible-Top Desk

I made this by request from my younger daughter who asked me to make her a desk for use in a spare room she had been using while working from home during the COVID era.  This desk comprises a reversible top (in Baltic Birch Plywood with the alternate side having a Mahogany Veneer, and solid Mahogany headboard and edge banding), a bookcase/shelf unit (case is in Baltic Birch Plywood with solid Mahogany shelves), and a drawer unit (case and drawers are in Baltic Birch Plywood with solid Mahogany drawer faces).  This was my first time using veneer, and I was generally pleased with the outcome.

looks great alan. but why the reversible top ?

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Yeah, same question. Nice desk!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

The reversibility of the top gives another side to use in case one gets damaged.  Also, since the sides are different species (Mahogany vs Birch), it allows for a change of scenery.

Nice desk - it looks like the veneering went perfectly.
