Strop Case

I was gonna get sharpening stuff  for my parents for their kitchen knives and I was looking for stones and then, I ended up making strops for them, too.   I made 2 so they can choose one. It's just cutting wood to the sizes and gluing them so nothing difficult.

The following picture is the one I made a little over a year ago.

The thing was, the magnets I used were so weak(I think it's from a bad batch)... I didn't notice it until the end. They at least help you align the lid. Anyways, just before applying the finish, I noticed there was a crack in the ambrosia maple so I put inlay there.

For a kitchen tool these sure are tops!

The way you accented the maple case is really nice! Parents took the birch one because they didn't want to seem greedy 👍
Splinter, Thank you! we are super greedy but we just like basic stuff, haha.

Both are beautiful, but I'm with the crowd, and like that Ambrosia Maple one the best.
These are beautiful, of course I love everything you post!

Nice work, I like the spot to hold the compound... I'm always misplacing mine lol

Thank you Mos. Once you finish your table saw re-build, you can glue the pieces from your test cuts by the table saw and you'll have the strop case!
