This scooter called Wasp is what I made for the Surpriseswap 2024 for Woodmaster1. It is up to you to find out why this one is called Wasp? When I started using this name I noticed that the letters are the same as in the word swap. A nice extra.

I made five of this scooters. I gave away 4 of them.

In addition to Woodmaster 1, LBD also received one. The latter/duck does a tremendous amount of work to turn the construction drawings into something beautiful. It is he who correct many errors before publication. And he also makes a breakdown video which you can find on YouTube.  It is not only LDB who is helping to make something beautiful out of it. Also Phenrica woodstuff checks the drawing for shortcomings.

It is also Phenrica woodstuff that made some building videos on YouTube.

The scooter is mainly made out of Ash. The other types of wood are Beech, Wenge, Merbau, Oak, Beli (Zebrano look a like) The tyres are ebonized european Oak. The license plate and tyres are lasered. (Although my English is not always correct 😒, I know that in the USA they have tires😜) This model also requires the necessary attention but is not extremely difficult to make. You can find the construction drawing on my website.

Below some more pictures.
Thanks for watching.

C'mon Dutchy... Anyone can drive a scooter... but in clogs???... It's the clogs that make it.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Another superb model thank you Jan with great Aussie collaboration from LBD......

Always impressed by the detail these models have.

Were the pink clogs a tribute to LBD for the collaboration?

You are something else (in the good way).
You are truly and artist with wood. your choice of the wood and layout is fantastic to the eye. very well done.
Great looking scooter, Jan! Is it named after the Varla, or the 1960s Vespa?

May you have the day you deserve!

great project.. I have been looking at on of those,  old enough to not car if someone see me driving one.
Love them Jan. Nice job. What do you call a group of scooters........

Kerry - Working with wood, the smell the feel, is such a joy, its a meditation of sorts.
