T&J 1934 Chevy 3 window coupe

Good afternoon all,   I am happy to post this finished project of the '34 Chevy coupe.  I purchased the plan from T&J at least 2 years ago and I just could not get excited about plunging into the build.  However, rather than let it just sit, I decided that I would finally build it.  While in general it is not as complex as some of the T&J plans, it does present some process 'adventures", especially in the fabrication of the small pieces like the eagle radiator cap.   The primary wood used is spalted maple for the body and chassis, walnut for the fenders, seats, and some trim, purple heart for the outer trims pieces and the hub caps, African blackwood for the headlight cases with white acrylic "bulbs".  On this model I did not make the wheels from scratch but I did ebonize the tires and added the hubcaps.  Also lasered the "1934" license plates.  The one glaring omission on this plan is the lack of the sculpted front fender areas that was prevalent on cars of that time period.  Even the templates provided in the plans do not take that into account and there is no mention of an inner add to the front fender to enclose it.  Now that is is finished, if I were to ever build another run of this plan, I would make the the front fenders using the method Brian Proctor (Bushmaster) uses in his videos.  I have used that on a couple of models and it made sculpting the fender sweep much easier.  But all in all, I am happy with the outcome.   The finish is Watco Danish Natural finish and a final coat of beeswax.

Here are some photos of the finished project.

Regards,
Dave

thanks to you all for the comments.  I'm glad you like the result.   Now I have to think about what comes next. . . . .I'm thinking a Dutchy plan.  I like the sweet scooter, but the TukTuk takes me back to some time I spent in Bangkok.

Any of the vehicles from that era look great made as a timber model and yours sir is gorgeous, top makes.
