Mystery wood pens ?
some of you may remember when i found those logs in a pile of firewood that came from mexico. it looked promising so i saved it from the flames. finally turned a couple pens. i was only able to get two blanks from those logs as there were many cracks. the wood was quite beautiful and worth the effort id say. in the first pic the top pen is a gatsby and the bottom a polaris pen. the finish is my new favorite for pens. several coats of spray gloss lacquer, then wet sanded with micro mesh followed with a polish on the lathe. if anyone has an idea what the wood is let me know ?

Really like the pens, the wood is definately Mexican Brown Fire Log Wood.

Love the pens. funny but I also do pens, knives. Great work and I love the wood color and Grain design.

Yeah, I took a shot in the dark with my mesquite guess. I'm not surprised that was a miss 😀
