Saw blade knife

this was a project that was all but lost until i happened to stumble on it on woodworking talk, a forum i tried before joining here. as you can see it was cut from an old saw blade using a small grinder and finished on a 8" grinder. the handle is bubinga with mosaic pins. the finish is general finish satin arm r seal. this was part of a knife swap.

Nice!  Love the shape/presentation

Mike

Looks like the work is real good, but I thought you were supposed to grind the teeth off, and make a sharp edge? But whattta I know. I made 23 knives that year, and all of them were from kits with a blade already shaped. So I'm a "handler" not a knife maker. :-)))

Nice Potty! Very Mad Max of you...

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

thanks boys. grind the teeth off george ! that would ruin the look. it has an edge but i never heat treated it. more of a man cave item than useful cutter. although OJ did endorse it for me. said it had just the angle for what he liked to do ?
i did have one pic that eric sent me from the knife swap on lj's. i thought i had lost all mine. i was banned before the swap ended. i was on woodworking talk shopping for members when i spotted this. i had joined there right before coming here. it's a dead forum. i posted these pic's as a project back in november and there are only 31 projects posted since !

Wow! That’s nice!  Dont cut yourself shaving with it …haha!

I can appreciate the inside cut for the blade, but how'd you curve the grinder for the inside handle?

Is that a Bos¢h blade that had to be modified to actually cut?

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Lpljimy-not a problem that went to eric (the loft) in a knife swap.
duck-no mods duckie, just a 4.5" diamond blade on the grinder.

Like you always seem to pull things off, another great job. what else can I say, outstanding.
Reminds me of a hairy cartoon character! Nice job!
