I've been experimenting with using a scratchstock to make various moulding profiles.
The possibilities are endless!
looks great.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Cool! I made my own a few years back, but haven’t really gotten a chance to use it. Gotta love the old skool methods!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Somewhat limited by the shapes of your files, but mostly just your imagination. You don't have to use what they sell as trim, you can just roll your own.

Gratifying.
I really like woodworking with hand tools. The possibilities are endless and you are only limited by your ability in customizing the tool and blade you make. Scratchstock cutters, moulding plane blades, even plane blades can be shaped to meet the need exactly. Lots of fun and very satisfying.
Nice, for small/one off stuff a scratch stock is often easier than moulding planes.
True comment. Scratchstocks have the advantage of being able to produce different cutter shapes quickly without the need of getting into annealing, hardening  and tempering. It's a slower process.
