Very cool and well made bench

Really nice Sam, lot of work in that, looks great, lucky woodworker who got it.
Nice bench Sam. Is it low to allow for seated work? Or is it similar to a Moxon vise that you use on top of a standard bench?

The woodworker you made this for is a lucky person.
Excellent! Height is just right for clamps to pass under and the vise w/dog holes should help hold anything.
The cutouts on the feet (for clamp heads I assume) are a perfect addition, keeps the top clear.
Hey, thanx for the good comments. And yes "GeorgeWest" , the Japanese Low Workbench can and do certainly work as a "Moxon Vise" on top of my Roubo workbench. I've done that and it works flawlessly. (I had pics taken too as the low workbench functioning as a Moxon vise. (But I'll have to look for it since its been a couple years back since the workbench is completed)   :))
Thanks Sam, looked like it would do a great job of elevating work. That plane working height of a regular bench sux for sawing, and chiseling.
Nicely crafted bench, that’s a great gift!
Wow - that's a beautiful bench!
