Good day people,

I’ve recently registered as a member in the woodworking community. As a newbie to this community I present to you my latest completed woodworking project here at finewoodworking.com.

Its simply called “Sam’s Tropical Wood Roubo Workbench”. Here’s a little inside to this awesome project of mine. The design was based on Split Top Roubo Workbench by Benchcrafted. It took a duration of 25 months to complete and its made entirely of tropical hardwood namely “Meranti Wood”, (Shorea genus of Dipterocarpaceae family). The workbench was coated with linseed oil as a finishing agent.

The process of crafting this wooden workbench can be viewed on my blog which is listed below.

The Sam’s Tropical Wood Roubo Workbench was completed in May 2015 and has been featured in numerous woodworking websites namely,

  1. The woodwhisperer, http://www.thewoodwhisperer.com/viewer-projects/sams-tropical-wood-roubo-workbench/
  2. The Lumberjocks, http://lumberjocks.com/projects/151386
  3. (NO LONGER AVAILABLE)   My woodworking blog, http://split-top-roubo-bench.blogspot.com/
I hope you enjoy viewing this woodworking workbench crafted by me and stay tuned for my next project which is a Sam Maloof inpired Rocker made entirely of Meranti Wood. (as of now I’m in the midst of drying the lumber).

That's a handsome bench.  It must weigh a ton.
Beautiful bench, gorgeous detail.  Only one small change I can think of -- move it to my shop.

Huh? Whadaya mean it ain't "measure once cut twice"?

Another great work of art!
Just another work by a master craftsman.
beautiful bench and would be very good to use.    well done.    Place is to clean, need some sawdust, etc.
