We have out 60 yr reunion coming up on June 8th at Marmion Military  Academy so I thought I'd make some tags for the guys signed up to attend. We had 197 in our class both day students and borders.  I wish more had planned to attend as this might be the last one for a lot of us. Many have died but we are all 77 and 78 yrs old so it is getting hard to travel for some.

I made the first prototype tag for me and then modified it to a smaller size and engraved and cut them out on my new CNC laser. They are made from 1/8" Baltic birch plywood and are finished with semi gloss spray!

Hi Jim,
That will be a wonderful reunion....60 years.....What a lovely personal touch and nice and sturdy too....1/8 inch Baltic Ply will be a permanent memento for everyone attending.   1964 is a long time ago.

Great work Jim, the tags will be appreciated and treasured.

Regards......Cliff.
Great idea Jim

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Nice job Jim, I'm sure everyone will appreciate them.
Jim,

Sure the name tags will be appreciated by attendees.   Nice job!

Thank you all for the nice comments. I had to make another one today for a guy who is coming but not on the school list. I hope they like them for mementos of the night!!

Jim, very nice!  I'm sure all the alums will like these remembrance items very much.  I have used the same technique for the logo coin insert for things I make.  A great way to "sign" your work and use the available tech to solve the need.
Thanks, Dave!

wouldn't go down well with the ladies.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Hi Ducky. We went to an all boys school. No ladies around!

Aha... but some may have identified as one with the current WOKE movement... nothing worse than a cranky grandpama.

At our age, you don't see any people crossing over the gender line and wanting the public to go along with it!

After the reunion I had to make few more tags for those that I didn't know were coming and and I also made one for my very best friend since kindergarten, Jim Dollinger, who died  at 62. I mounted the tag with his photo.
