Flute box

My niece plays the flute rather well, and was bought a silver Japanese Muramatsu flute for Christmas some years ago. I suggested that I made here a special case to house it.

The case is made from American black walnut, with a book matched walnut burr domed lid and is lined with a cobalt coloured goat skin. It has the Muramatsu logo on the front, and on the pair of catches which I took from her old case. Her initials are on one end.

Forming the interior was harder than making the main box. With only the old worn case to copy and take sizes from.

as usual, beautiful ! thats a case befitting a high quality musical instrument. well done MB !

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Wow! What a beautiful case! It's an excellent gift.
That walnut is spectacular. Nicely done.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

You don’t make anything which isn’t first class.
Thanks everyone.  Always good to get the feedback.
Lovely gift!  One of a kind case.
Beautiful, like all your other projects. My daughter also played the flute in her younger days.
