After nearly 4 years I finally finished my 1:10 scale model of the octagonal windmill at Koudum.
In these years a lot has happened and the project has been on pause for several times. But I'm proud at the end result.
A series of blog post gives you a idea about the challenges i had making this mill.
I added a video showing the mill working and one where the mill is pumping water.

Hope you enjoy.

Lots of challenges in the parts, all well done.

I've never had the pleasure of seeing one of those styles up close. Amazing engineering for those days.

You captured all that very nicely, great job!
Very cool..     Just like a real one!!!

Wow! Really nicely done!

Congratulations on compile one of the most impressive projects I’ve ever seen. Your blog is an excellent record of your work, and also an educational history lesson on how the windmill was originally constructed.

I can’t remember if you mentioned this in your blog, but will this project end up in a museum display somewhere? It certainly deserves to be.
wow thats impressive.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

The idea is to find a museum that would like to add the mill to the collection. For now i'm still working on a presentation on the history and the build of this mill.

What a fine conclusion to your blog! The videos were a pleasure to watch.

This is an excellent demonstration of the engineering done so many years ago.
