ive been saving wine corks for several years now, as you can see i had a few ! ive done these a few times over the years and decided it was time to put my supply to good use. made 14 to give away as xmas gifts. made from mahogany with hardboard bottoms. all from leftovers. rubber feet and finished with spray on poly. cork are attached with hot melt glue.

I guess it's safe to say you like wine Pottz! LOL. I've made alot of trivets before but never out of corks. Mine usually out of tile. Good idea!
Yeah, I think you've hit on a classic "reuse" project with these! Perfect application, both visually and the cork is ideal for hot contact.Β
Must be aggravating to collect the corks, you must scavenge the bus station back alleys for supplies 🀠
thanks rick they work great for trivets.
splint getting the corks just takes lots of drinking thats all. it's a lot of work but someone has to do it ! 😎

Great idea, Xmas gifts. Good job.
PS: I like the way you reinforced the meters, add nice design touch.
OMG 😳 that’s a lot of corks……I get such a headache from wine. Love the trivet's Pottz. Β Never seen it before. Very original idea plus a nice wine decor.Β
OT- thanks
RODRICK--thanks bud. thats why these are so fun to make, creating the supplies 😁

Could it be Sadona, the magic Beagle, is like the goose with the golden eggs?

Maybe Pottz just makes a scooper run in the yard to mine his supplies? πŸ€”
yeah we like to enjoy a glass (er...bottle) of wine every now and then 😏🀣

Well, well, you must have been drinking a lot of top shelf vino, or raiding the stuff you've laid down!! A cork is an extreme rarity in my price range on the lower shelves! Don't think screw tops would work the same!!
thanks mads. actually a screw cap doesn't mean cheap vino anymore. more and more wineries are using them.Β  eliminates cork taint and spoiled wines.

That's a week's worth of corks? A lot of glue used to stick them all down

If he bought it in barrels, he wouldn’t have the corks! My FIL used to make trivets just like those as gifts. Great use of the corks!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

A cask has the equivalent of 4 bottles... does that mean I only need 8 casks to make a trivial.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD
