i was busy all day doing a batch of wine cork trivets so to pass the time between glue ups a made this pen from a kit i got from wood turningz. a great small company with great service. the blank was a piece of birch that was stabalized and given to me by our good friend dave polascheck. the finish is my now go to, gloss lacquer polished with micro mesh. i love this technique way more that ca glue finish. this pen has a good feel in my hand so it will be my new work pen.

the lacquer ill spray on several coats with the lathe spinning slowly to avoid drips. then run through all the levels of micro. ive always hated ca as a finish. it's an adhesive ! give it a try rick i think you'll like it !

Is that a pen or a thick pencil lead?... yeah I could have Googled? for the CA brigade.... only cause I'm stubborn and too bloody old to learn new tricks.
