The tall creatures are a couple of the tampers I made using the lathe and some wood I had in the racks.

The one with the black composite bottom is for packing cabbage, when making sauerkraut. The other gets used when I'm packing Mylar bags with freeze-dried things, like milk, tomato soup and so on.

The one with the composite bottom (held in place by a steel wood dowel epoxied into holes in the wood and composite) is cherry from a local orchard. The other is sycamore.

The cheese slicer had a cheap, pathetic plastic handle, which broke. So I gut out some sycamore, carved the inside to accommodate the tang and it's been a favorite ever since.
all well done kelly !

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Nicely done.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".
