Old Scales Save

Bought these scales at a yard-sale for a couple bucks.  The ceramic tops were broken, so I made a couple out of some oak I had laying around. Then I used some more of the oak to build a box to rest (mount) it on. When done, I used some brass railing I picked up for a song and dance at a swap meet to dress it all up a bit more.

Perhaps ironically, I sold it back to the guy I bought it from for about $75.00.
now thats a cool old tool. so does it still function accurately ?

Cool find!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

interesting use of the scale.

Never checked for accuracy, but is still pretended to balance. I could have drilled holes in the bottoms of the oak plates to balance them. Don't know what the accuracy would get down to. It's been pushing on four decades since I sold them.
hey even if not it's cool as it is !
