Pizza cutters

these will be given as xmas gifts to the ladies at work that do all my billing and accounting for my dept. i make something every year. ill give a cutter and two cork trivets i posted earlier to each person.  i think people really appreciate when you take the time to do something personal rather than a gift card that says, i dont have the time to bother. these kits are from penn state. they are very heavy duty high quality cutters. if your looking to make one i highly recommend these. two are made from cocobolo and the rest are bocote. finish is several coats lacquer. a simple easy to turn project.

Nice work Pottz!

Simple - for you.  Takes me a couple hours to get a cylinder and then a couple more to get the shape.   Those are really nice looking.  Did you see the cutter covers that you can make for them?

Great gifts!  I bet they look forward to what you make for them each year.
i hope they do ? there is one lady though that after two years has never even said thank you ! this year were slow so she was laid off, so i dont have to give her anything ! i find that terribly rude ! but yet, id still include her if she was with us !

Hell Pottzy, been holding back on the reply for fear I probably might will offend!

The cutters are cool, but even the pizza comes in a box, allbeit cardboard... at least here in Aussieland and I'm guessing Yankee pizzas don't come in a plastic bag...

Giving loose is like giving a lady some French perfume wrapped in a brown paper bag, tied off with a couple of cheap rubber bands and the included love letter/embossed_card is the sales docket/price tag.

I'd hate to be the recipient of the coco handles... it'd be like a target on their back from the missed out group (I love coco')...

FAIW (for anyone else thinking these make great prezzies), these are the kits I have, (left, right)

They both have tangs either side of the blade (which makes licking both sides of the blade a tad difficult),

The Rockler reeks quality (brass body... on the ones I bought years ago... only 2 left out of 10), has a threaded insert and the blade is more solidly centered... they both weigh a ton and I affectionately refer to them as a disgruntled spouse killer... great substitute for a hatchet.. deadlier than a long, sharp chef's katana.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

I have one or two in a cabinet waiting for me to make the handles.

Petey

nicely done buddy!

Very nice, I've been thinking I need to make one for myself, our old store bought ones are starting to fall apart lol
