Walking stick

I have been trying my hand at carving so I decided to carve a walking stick. This one is made from a cedar branch with a dark walnut stain and a tung oil finish and a leather handle cover. The wood was very hard and did not like the stain. I sanded the stain to bring out the carving details. I used scrap leather pieces and waxed stitching string (all from Hobby Lobby) and used a baseball stitch for the cover.
you did a great job on the carving and leather work. 👍

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Very nice!
Carving figure choice is perfect, really fits in with the whole project.
Did you do something for the head? The translucent gloss looks like some form of cap or glass,
Nicely done.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

A lot of good work there!
