New pens

For various reasons, I hadn't done any pen making.
Recently had a request for some pens for gifts, so I broke out all the dusty supply.

I had some failures along the way—particularly trying crosscut Massaranduba. It's also called Brazilian Redwood but I'm telling you Redwood is 1,000 times softer than x-cut Massa!
L->R:
Curly ambrosia maple, koa, massaranduba (straight cut), sapele, maple and black cherry, hard maple, and SpectraPly.
All finished with CA and then waxed.
Beautiful work Gary! WARNING! Pen making can be addictive!
Thanks Barb.

No kidding MrRick.
Once I get setup again properly, I expect to do more segmentation and maybe learn to make kitless pens.
There was a time when I was making lots of pens and getting a pretty good bump for the Bourbon cabinet.
I also ran a project called ServicePens on the IAP from which we donated more than 5,000 pens to our American military.
I like the selection you have Gary.
Certainly can get you in a spot when you have everything set up and are "in the groove". May be hard to just step away!
nice lineup. many put down slimlines (LBD) saying there worthless, i disagree. for a lady their the perfect size. not many woman like using a cigar pen. or men !

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment,somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Nice gifts!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".
