I made this clock face to give the great granddaughters a head start on learning how to tell time on an analog clock.
The clock face is 8" in diameter and it is on some 1/2" Baltic birch plywood. the hands are box elder.

Nice, grandpa! Now, put the second hand on. I remember in grade school being taught the clock hand positions for time. Teacher, "The short hand is the hour, the long hand is the minutes, the skinny hand is the second hand". Little Lightning sits there thinking, "But the minute hand was the second hand mentioned!" I didn't say anything, but I'm sure other kids were thinking the same thing.

Nice Jim!

Dark_Lightning - that's funny.  And you're likely right that several others had the same question.
Nice one great grandpap.
Holy cow Jim!  You got Great Grand Daughters!! 😉 Amazing! Neat idea.
Thank you all for the nice comments.

Hi Rick, I'll be 80 next year and might have to slow down a bit. I have 3 projects going in the shop but I also have a lot of outdoor work now that is is warming up in Michigan.
cheers, Jim

Good for you Jim! A man has to have purpose and you got plenty! Good on ya!!
Do you think your done with the snow and ice in Michigan this spring?? 😉
Nice learning clock Jim. They should get a ground hog in Michigan bb1 and ask him. They should call him Punxsutawney Jim. Or Michigan Jim.
Hi Barbara. I think the snow is all over for us down in Grand Rapids...not so sure about the UP or the top of the lower peninsula.

Hi TWG, we had a groundhog in the back undermining  the field all over the place. He came out one day and I shot him and buried him in one of his tunnels! I'll bet there are hundreds more around.
