14 More Rings

I had an order for a black Corian ring to match the size of one of my wood rings.  I made a range of sizes in black to be sure I had a good fit for the customer. The front row of 4 are black Corian. I had purchased some steel rings and had molded epoxy resin around them. I did not like how the epoxy polished so I turned  all the epoxy off and fitted corian blanks around them. I used 3 other colors of corian and made some  extras for stock. They are polished with EEE and Shellawax. The second and third shots show a blank before and after turning- that blank is translucent corian.
I mount the blanks on a set of expanding  nylon mandrels that I made just for ring making Each mandrel is 3/4" in the back and fits into a nylon "collett" that tightens up in the 4 jaw wood lathe chuck. Each mandrel has a .050" range and there are a bunch of them. I have some shots to follow of the process and the tools.:

Thanks you all for the nice comments. I have been making wood rings for years. I am up to 3 display boxes and they draw in customers at every show. I took them to Arizona for the first time, and they brought in a lot of customers there too! I give some away too!
