Shooting Board Miter Options

I made these two options that assemble to my shooting board.
Bevels are angled along the edge, and miters are angled across the face.

Thanks for looking!
Cheers.

Looks like a keeper!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Thanks Pottz! It works well. Very accurate. Bam on 45°s!
Great jig MrR. Can you show us the finished cut? I saw video where a craftsman cut the miter about a half degree over a 45* to assure that the outsides of the miter were closed. That’s a nice looking plane. Which manufacturer is it from?

Looks like a fine upgrade.

James .... it's a Jack Plane No.5 from Veritas Lee Valley.
Nice setup Rick, makes shooting miters easy & accurate.  I see you have a low angle plane, how do you like it? I'm guessing it slices beautiful end grain slivers.
Thanks Oldtool ... Lee Valley's low angle Jack Plane is one of the most popular on the market. Sometimes it can be hard to get because of it. Many times you have to back order but not always.
If you want one get it now. You won't regret it.
Looks good Rick. Did it take much tweaking to insure that the angle was dead-on 45 degrees? I would be interested to see how the second one is constructed, in the photo it’s hidden by that gorgeous plane. I have the same one and love it!
That's a very useful jig / fixture.  The LV plane makes me drool.

Thanks Fotodog! There was very little tweaking. Lucky I suppose. It is right on 45°. Here's some additional photos.
The top rail can be removed if need be. But it plays a role ensuring the plane sits at the 45°. Hard to beat me Lee Valley's jack plane.

Thanks Dave!  Yes. LV jack plane is hard to beat.
