In my posting of my previous Lever Action Pen project where I revealed I buggered up (marred) one of the kits, I thought I might as well make up another blank for it, to keep in my “customers' perusal” cabinet/box,
Without going into the detail of the stock I build out of some piece of BOOMBY (Branch Out Of My Back Yard), in this thread,
anyone interested can view my attempt in this video.
I had the choice of outfitting the stock,
and the handguard with either the pliers marred antique pewter (damaged while dismantling a previous kit build),
or the black kit,
While I had my druthers towards the marked pewter, if only to set it up for display rather than distribution, I asked SWMBO and a visiting girlfriend ( hers, not mine) which they preferred… what do the ladies know about rifles?... other than using a double-barrel shotgun (lighter)
to start the gas stove/BBQ… OK not the sacred BBQ shrine!... the ire from its (shotgun) role as a birthday present, I’ve never been able to shake… but if I wanted dinner, I had to compromise on their choice of black and under duress, pressed the kit together,
Unfortunately these pens are just too big to carry around in a top pocket so it’s another case of choosing a backing board,
but this time I’m keeping my mouth shut, even if I can’t decide.
As an alternative, I have been considering a riffle scabbard similar to this,
using some soft leather I’ve got from a past couch repair,

You know Spam was invented and made 120 miles from me, there is even a Spam Museum there....But it is in Minnesoooooota, we don't claim them.

I like the display board although the scabbard does make one want to inspect further...
Have to agree, but it's a waste of a nice piece of timber... however, where else could I use it??? It's been hanging around in the workshop for over 20 years.

That was eons ago, I believe the trio have reached their used by date since ALL are now retired... and it's getting harder to prop up and bring colour to the group.
