Hi Craftisians.

This entry was previously posted on that "other site."  Some of you may have already seen this project...

Mesquite nightstand. I made a second identical one (not posted).

Details - The nightstand is 24 inches tall and the top measures 18  by 15 inches. Mortise and loose tenon joinery. The sides are solid wood bookmatched panels. The bottom of the legs have a decorative indent.  It has a ship-lapped back. The drawer is Maple with Mesquite trim on the top edge. I used undermount, 3/4 extention slides. The splines and plugs are Black Walnut. The finish is very simple. Danish Oil (natural) and sprayed Shellac (blonde).

Happy to answer any questions. Comments are always welcome. Thanks...
well done again tim. i like how you didn't fill all the voids and cracks, gives a nice rustic look. i mean why take a rustic wood and try to make it perfect. you show it for what it is.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Like it!   Very nicely done.

'nother nice piece! Love G&G, too!

The Other Steven

Another beauty! The bookmatching works with the design. Nicely done.
Super nice Tim. All the details you incorporated make this an outstanding build. I really like all the walnut plugs, they give a nice contrast effect that draws the eyes to them. The breadboard top looks great too, especially with the walnut in there.
Great work.

Beauty!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Thank you everyone for the kind comments. Let me respond to each of you...

Pottz - Again, thanks. Fortunately, the wife likes the rustic nature of Mesquite. We only fill the cracks/voids if we have to for structural reasons. We embrace the crazy nature of the lumber. Thanks again...

987Ron - Appreciate the kind words. Thanks for taking the time to view my project...

Dark_Lightening - Thank you. Yeah, gotta love that G&G. The wife and I are "addicited."

BB1 - Thank you for the comment on the bookmatching. Seems like I'm doing lots of that on these particular projects...

Oltool - Thank you. We decided to use the Walnut accents early on. Actually, we were just too cheap to purchase Ebony! The Black Walnut seems to be a decent substitute. Thanks again for taking the time to comment...
