pottz's-Shop Tour

well ill start with some specs. main shop space is 25' x 25', smaller shop is 18' x 18' . ceiling height is 11'6" to the bottom of joists. machines all connect to a jet jcdc-2 2hp dust collector. air lines are located in various places for easy reach from a porter cable air compressor. both shops lit with 52 4' Led tubes, so plenty of light. also some machines have their own indivigual lights. 110v plugs about every 4' and 220v in several places. also there are 4 110 & 220 drops at about 6' from the floor.  all the walls are covered with MDF.
.

this is the heart of the shop, and probably most peoples. Mini Max S110 12" 4hp with sliding table. it came with a scoring blade but it was gone when i got it. the area on the right is storage for 2 sleds and a spline jig. above it is a drawer for tools.

this is my main assembly bench, air lines on both sides. 110v plugs on all 4 corners. left side is a paper roll holder. top has t tracks to attach various things. drawers hold some sanders, small clamps and sandpaper.

these are my main tool chests. the one on the right is mechanics tools. on the left holds most of my hand tools. there is a Rikon combo disc/belt sander for small parts.

behind the assembly bench is my jet VS midi lathe with extention. cabinets above hold supplies and pen blanks. turning tools are in tubes mounted under the cabinets. dust collection is from a big gulp hood and the wood box you see in front. as with most lathes it only does so much.

my delta 6" joiner retrofitted with a shelix cutter head. behind is one of my clamp racks.

my miter saw bench with a dewalt 10" chop box. 3' of bench on both sides of the saw. the drawers hold most of my hand power tools. on the right is a Jet spindle sander.

my router table with JessEm lift. the fence is a Jointech. on the left is a Delta 6"x 89" edge sander.

my hand tool bench. has power on both sides and lots of storage space below that i added. vice on the right is removable. on the left is a Wen 9" bench top band saw. next to t6hat is a Delta mortiser.

this bench is all for sharpening tools and machines. right side is a Tormek low speed water cooled grinder. in the middle a Wen 8" grinder i have setup for lathe tools. on the left is a Jet combo 8"wheel 2"x48" belt. VS. all machines plug in the narrow door fed from the one blue cord.

here is my sears craftsman 10" radial arm saw. many say there dangerous, i laugh. i use this saw for every project ive done or do. id sie without it. dust is collected though the grate behind the blade. works quit well.

here on the right is my Delta combo 6" belt 12" disc sander. middle is a Delta 15" planer equipped with a wixey digtal read out. left side is my Porter Cable air compressor. more clamp storage above.

here is the Jet 2hp dust collector. in front are two Fein dust collectors. one is permanent attached to a  boom arm with a mirka sander thats always on the bench.

this is my shop office/parts storage room. equipped with a stereo that also feeds the patio, a computer, sink, and microwave.

this is a luxory i, and swmbo, both appreciate very much !

wood storage above the miter saw bench and hand tool bench.

this is the smaller garage. right side Dewalt scroll saw. next that is my Delta  10" 36-725 table saw i have setup just for cutting dadoes.

in front is a JDS multi router with all the accessories. the band saw is mini Max S45 16" band saw. the next one is a Hitachi CB75F resaw with a 3" blade. in the corner is a Mini Max spindle moulder. which i plan to sell.

Whew !!! that about raps it up. i now this was long but ive got a lot of stuff !!!! so any questions about anything dont be afraid to ask. there was no way i could detail everything. also most of the benches can be seen in my projects if your interested  in making one. also every machine and bench is on wheels so i can park my truck and wifes car inside every night.

i missed this originally. this is a boom arm with a vac connected to my mika sander. it's plugged into a fein sander you saw in front of the jet dust collector, the track came from rockler. i love this setup.

By request here are some wide angle pic's.

Lots of good tools and locations.    Nice!

Ron

fire assessment?
I have wondered about an unattended fire starting and rated the workshop the highest risk due to timber and an lesser elemet of accumulated sawdust build up on Horiz surfaces

Regards Rob

thanks ron.
i appreciate your concerns rob from a true friend !!!! 🙄 i did forget to point out the fire extinguishers i guess ?

Seriously, a fantastic shop, something I can only dream about.
Nice shop. I like to see various shop layouts and storage solutions.

...woodicted

Impressive.  Perhaps a few wide angle shots to see the entire space and layout?  Curious Envious people want to see the whole thing at once.

Hey there Pottz. . .great shop layout.  a 25x25 is, for me, a perfect size.   Really nice.  thank you for sharing!
thanks papa.

i love this best LOL 🤣🤣

*TONY ** Denver * ALWAYS REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN

Great ship Pottzy! I’m jealous of the table saw with sliding table…and the RAS. No room for either, but maybe some day. And the office and bathroom are a huge plus!! 👍🏼

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

to be honest i never use the sliding table. for cross cuts i use the radial arm saw.
