Baseball Bat and Ball stand

my friend who is a big L.A. Dodgers fan bought a Clayton Kershaw commemorate 3k strike outs bat and ball and asked if i would make a display stand for it. i said sure. we chose mahogany as a good contrast with the black bat and blue ball. he let me do what i wanted for the design. so bat on holders and ball on a pedestal i turned on my lathe. i put a tab of velcro on the stand and ball to insure it wouldn't get knocked off easily. finish is one coat of General Finishes ARM R SEAL and 5 coats spray on gloss lacquer. bottom is covered with a honey comb drawer liner, something i use on a lot of display item, coasters, etc. it is a full size bat 33" long.

Pottz... it looks good! Have you ever done that finish before? Lacquer over Arm R Seal? Arm R Seal is oil mixed with urethane. Actually the oil is soy oil. Have you ever had problems?
Purdy sweet!

I was expecting a "T" ball setup for the kids!
rick yeah many times. i like using an oil first to bring out the richness of the wood.

It came out great Pottz. You just keep creating. It’s too hot lately in my shop to make anything so I’m reposting some of my older projects. Have you ever done that?
