Small Boxes.

Boys and Girls,

Watching India Jones at the movies, and far too many times on TV, I as everyone else, chuckled at the storage scene,
until I took a look at my drawer full of boxes,
and I realised that I could never wield his whip, however, I could wield one of my own,
Then I grew up (and just a little… out)

On hindsight, I used to take some pride and put a tad more effort into making boxes for my router bits, jigs and hand tools before the revelation that it’s just a box in a pile, and I resorted to laser cutting boxes out of MDF… hell, they weren’t as “pretty” (if you can somehow call my solids collection “pretty”), but these were quick and still as functional,

 Whoa there hoss, slow down,

and get to the project.....

I did transition from solids to MDF with this hybrid compass box,
Giddy yup,
......

Small wasn’t the only SWMBO complaint, and the following is a summary of the small “solid” boxes I’ve made that haven’t been posted as separate projects.
I’m just guessing that these two should be self explanatory,

One for you Pictionary fans,
just to test your mettle.
This following, was gonna be called A Mitre Box, but the engraving reminded me of a ghost, so,
Just a plough (I think) plane box,
with a cutter blade box for the above plane,
A Veritas shoulder plane box,
A rebate plane box,
Pen Wizard (Beall) accoutrements small box,
with big daddy

with a 3D printed collar (black) to accept a Foredom handset.
Just a small miscellaneous box,

All were made out of pine, Leigh D4R dovetailed or Incra iBoxed construction... leaving SWMBO out, I've never been a great finisher so I can only attest to some sort of water based varnish as the finish.
There are quite a few more, but they are what I consider bigger boxes/cabinets and ill fitting in this small boxes blog.
Just

that I didn’t post each little box as a separate project with a long winded narrative.

Here in Victoria, you have to be dead to get an ambulance.... and they'll still charge you over $1,000 to the morgue.... assuming the rubbish tip is closed.

Our health system is fornicated and if your into private health insurance, they just use a condom.

Lots of boxes.   Now a big box to put similar items that have their own box a big box for all the smaller box, maybe puzzle fit I to the big box.

Nice boxes, Alex, It is great to be able to print the pictures of the item on them...a picture is worth a 1000 words...saves you a lot of writing!!!!!!!!!!

Duckie...in my constant quest to be organized, I am super jealous....super well done, I did find a typo on the router bit box...it appears to be in SAE instead of your beloved metric....he he he !!!!

Very well done...best project you have ever posted....

Mike

Do tell!
All I can see is
Tambourine - P (hush/shush/shhhh or dog digging a hole) pinecone/hops/bud.

How come some of those bits still have the factory snot on them? They should be covered with burned wood pitch.
Nicely done Ducky. I need to organize my router bits. They are in SAE and not metric so you can’t understand them and get your little wings or webbed feet on them.

Green bum (grassy arse) all.

efen "SAE" is a cuss word I cannot tolerate.  In light of my indigenous Hungarian (SOA_FC) birth right, I will conduct a burning ceremony tonight on any SAE boxes.

Splinter, that cupie cutie,
is just about in your nimble hands... minus the silent "P" of a "pine" = Tamborine - ine. → Tambor.. .ok a few cask-o-vinos help, not in solution but coming up with stupid ideas.

Thanks SR, unfortunately they are all hidden, but at least neater than loose or cardboard.  I have no hesitation in hiding my MDF boxes in open view.
