Just a couple of snowman ornaments

The body is made with cherry, the hat, base, eyes and buttons are walnut and the nose is padauk. I haven't touched my lathe in a while, and I thought this would be a great way to start using it again. I found myself struggling and I kept getting catches, I thought maybe my lathe was the wrong height, so I made a platform to stand on. I've turned several items in the last week or so and my neck is killing me. Not sure if it is just arthritis, scar tissue pinching a nerve or the platform I made, but it sucks.  It could be that just standing in one place looking down at the projects was what got me. Thankfully it became fun once I got the hang of it again. But now no more lathe, I need to give my neck a rest.
